We Support Children and Youth to Reach Their Full Potential
What We Can Fund
Below is list of programs and items that Foster Hearts can fund based on availability for children in foster care in Whatcom, Skagit, Island and Snohomish counties. Request below.
01.
— Fun 4 Fosters
Funding a variety of athletic, educational and social activities and items for children in foster care that are not otherwise funded by state or other programs.
02.
— Baby & Toddler
Many times, foster parents find out they are receiving a child mere hours before bringing them home. For that reason, they are often unprepared and overwhelmed. We strive to provide families with items they may need, from clothes to car seats and toys to diapers, so they can focus on loving their little one.
03.
— Educational
Youth in foster care and their caregivers can request funding for tutoring, year books, various school fees, school supplies, and college application fees.
05.
— Care Kits
A fresh set of clothes, a clean pair of socks and a new toothbrush can make a world of difference to a child entering foster care. We provide and deliver care kits for children going into foster care to support them as they make this transition.Care Kits are for ages infant to 18 years old and we also offer gender neutral bags.
06.
— Food 4 Fosters
For foster children with food insecurities from trauma and neglect. Helping your foster child with food or snacks for visits and providing snack packs to the local Department of Youth, Children, and Families offices.
07.
— Birthday Program
We believe that celebrating a birthday for children in foster care is a basic need. Having met so many youngsters who – just due to their unique circumstances – have never celebrated their birthday, we understand the importance of that special day. The Birthday program shows children in foster care that they are supported and loved.
08.
— Extended Care
Extended Foster Care is a voluntary program that offers dependent youth the option of remaining in care until age 21 to support the successful transition to independence. We provide resources and support to young adults in this program. It can include paying a one-time utility or other needs they may have while in the program not already paid for by another program.
09.
— Community
Community discounts are always something we are partnering for in the communities we serve. Click on the links below if you would like information on free Woodland Park Zoo tickets, Seattle Aquarium Ticket Info, or State Park Camping.

What We Care For!

Supporting Foster Families
The most common stuggle experience by foster parents is the lack of support while caring for kids who have experienced abuse and neglect.

Give Hope to a Child
You donation can make a difference in a foster child in our community.

Host a Drive
Our most-needed donated items are (new) underwear and socks – ages infant through adult. Underwear Drives are a great way to get diapers and underwear into the Care Kits. When each person donates a package of his or her own size, we receive a wide variety of sizes! Please contact us if you are interested in organizing a Drive.
