Our Community... Our Children

Build a community Where All foster children Are Safe, Strong & Valued

Here To Help You

Foster Hearts is a non-profit organization partnering with our community in Whatcom, Skagit, Island, and Snohomish Counties to improve the lives of children in foster care who reside in these counties.

Our organization helps reduce the financial strain a new child can place on a foster family by freeing up funds that would otherwise be used to fulfill these immediate needs. These needs are not always met immediately or in full by the State and that is where we step in. Meeting these needs allow foster parents to be able to use the funds saved to help the children adapt to their new home in other ways. Foster Hearts programs bring normal childhood experiences to foster and kinship youth. Our goal is to widen horizons, teach important life skills and bring joy.

Every person whose life is improved or saved, stems from an act of generosity that’s purely voluntary. That’s why donating is so extraordinary when you can do it.

What We Do

01.

— We Find & Fund

Foster Hearts works with our foster community and identifies areas that are lacking support for foster children. We then find ways to fund programs not currently provided for children in foster care.

02.

— We Provide Fun

Foster Hearts funds a variety of athletic, educational and social activities along with personal items for children in foster care that are not otherwise funded by the state or other programs.

03.

— We Provide Care Kits

Many children come into foster care with only the clothes on their back, or whatever they can carry in a trash bag. We provide clothing and toiletries to foster children new to care helping to build esteem.

04.

— We Build Community

Working with our community partners to find ways to support children in foster care who may not have opportunities otherwise.

No matter the amount you give, 90% of your donation will go directly to improve the life of a child in foster care. Your generosity makes our work possible.

Impact Stories

Woodland Park Zoo

“The admission passes for our foster kids to the Woodland Park Zoo made the 3 kids in our home extremely happy. Without this opportunity we would not have been able to afford to visit and let our kids see the wonder of so many animals they had not seen in person before.”

Care Kits

“I have bragged about the Care Kits since we got them with our new placements.  The blankets in them are so soft and the babies really love them.  The toiletry items are all great and we have actually used the soap and love it.  They are so well put together and so appreciated! The clothes are all super cute and fit well.  You can tell a lot of thought went into putting them together.  The duffel that they came in is super cute and will be good for overnight stays with family or a day at the sitter with lots of room for extra clothes.  Oh and the indestructible books that came in each bag!  Those are awesome!  Perfect for little hands and mouths. I’m so thankful for those care kits!  They are a true blessing.”
