Foster Hearts Store

We serve children placed in Whatcom , Skagit, Snohomish, Island and San Juan Counties.

 

Who Can Access The Foster Hearts Store?

The Foster Hearts Store exists for the benefit of children in foster care. Any child in the following situations can access free clothing, supplies, and other essentials.

  • Any foster child living in the custody/dependency of the Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF), including children living in DCYF-approved kinship homes.

  • College-age foster children attending school who have signed themselves back into DCYF custody in the Extended Care Program.

How Often?

Foster children can shop and receive free clothing and supplies once a month.

What Does Foster Hearts Require?

We require you to upload a DCYF placement letter or monthly invoice, or referral letter from your caseworker showing that the child you are shopping for is in your care when scheduling an appointment.

In-Person Shopping

Shopping is FREE for any child currently in foster care aged birth to 18yrs and those who are in the Extended Foster Care program. Currently, shopping is by appointment only. We provide apparel, shoes, coats, hygiene products, toys, bedding, and supplies for infants, children, and youth. 

Currently, we are open on Saturdays and Wednesdays by appointment and as needed for emergent needs.

When scheduling an appointment please have current placement paperwork or a social worker referral letter or monthly invoice to upload to confirm placement.

Personal Shopper

We recognize that due to the children’s needs in your home, appointments, and work schedules, it is not always easy to come in person to shop at the Foster Hearts Store. We are here to help and can deliver two times a year!

Fill out the clothing & item request below, and we will pick out new clothing for you and deliver it to your porch within 5-10 days, depending on your location. REQUEST ITEMS!

Virtual Shopping

Fill out the clothing & item request form below. One of our staff or volunteers will pick out clothes, shoes, and accessories based on the youth’s preferences and needs. REQUEST ITEMS!

We will have it ready for you to pick up at the Foster Hearts Store.

Volunteering

Do you have some extra time on your hands? Consider joining our team of committed volunteers that make all this happen.  Volunteers are how we are able to run the Foster Closet. We are always in need of diapers, formula, and baby wipes. We also except new clothing and seasonal items. Like new baby equipment and car seats. We list our current needs on our Amazon Wish List Below.
